Hiring
the Centre
For enquiries or to book any of the facilities The Community Centre at Praa Sands is available for hire to local
people and to service providers who aim to benefit the local community. The
facilities at the Centre comprise, the Main Hall, the Meetings/Therapy Room
& the Computer Room. The Main Hall
is
suitable for private functions such as parties and celebrations, for drama/music
rehearsals and for local club and society activities and includes use of the
kitchen for making hot drinks. Use of the piano or electric organ, if required,
is also included in the basic fee. A small additional fee is charged for use of
the ‘full’ kitchen facilities (cooker, fridge etc) or for use of the
staging. The hall has curtain ‘blackout’ and stage curtains at one end and
has a fixed stage lighting bar with four spot-lights. There are ten (1m square)
tables and approximately 30 chairs (more available on request). Also available
on request: six trestle tables and a video-playback machine. The Kitchen has a
six-burner gas cooker, warming cupboard, microwave, hot drinks machine, fridge,
2 electric kettles, crockery, cutlery, 2 teapots and a large hot water boiler. The
Meetings/Therapy Room is
ideal for small group meetings (a dozen or so people) or talks, and is
equipped with white board, 12 chairs and 2 tables and has tea-making facilities
(kettle, crockery, sink etc). As a Therapy Room, practitioners can be
assured of a comfortable environment conducive to private consultations, and an
adjoining waiting area (in the main-entrance lobby). The Computer Room comprises
6 PCs with scanning/printing facilities & internet access - an excellent
learning/training resource. Fax and General Office facilities are also
