Praa Sands & District Community Centre (Registered Charity No. 294357) The
Community Centre is located just outside Praa Sands village, near to the A394
and Germoe Crossroads. The
Centre is a popular and well-used venue for local
activities including clubs and interest groups, for the performing arts, for
private functions and also for anyone The
trustees are continually looking to enhance the facilities available and have
recently been successful in obtaining grants from the Countryside Agency and the
Neighbourhood Renewal Community Chest to carry out alterations to and refurbish
the former Surgery. It is
anticipated that in the near future additional funding will be sought to further
improve the building, its fixtures and fittings.
The
learning opportunities at the Centre are regularly
reviewed and Adult Education, Link into Learning and the Workers Educational
Association (WEA) are either presently providing or potential providers of
courses designed to meet community needs. The
Centre and the facilities are available for hire. As
a Registered Charity, the Management Committee is always seeking to raise funds
to maintain and run the Centre. An
example of this is the 200 Club, which you can join
to win weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual cash prizes.
